Sir John A. McDonald Dinner - January 14, 2012

On Saturday, January 14, the Riding held a fund-raising dinner at the Columbus centre in Cobourg featuring Sir John A. Macdonald.

A good crowd of supporters enjoyed a dinner and a re-enactment of Sir John A. Macdonald by Brian Porter.  The event was timed to coincide with his birthday which is Jan 11, 1815. We are hoping to make this an annual event.

Stay tuned for other interesting happenings organized by your riding.

Message from the Riding Association

A Message from the President

Our first annual Sir John A. Macdonald Dinner was a great success. The Porters as Sir John and Lady Macdonald were excellent hosts. There are some pictures on the site of the event to whet your appetite for next year's dinner!

Sir John truly was an incredible Victorian era gentleman, standing alongside so many others of his generation. His life and accomplishments and what he achieved for Canada are truly inspirational. His talent for bringing divergent peoples and ideas together should be a lesson to us all in cooperation, fellowship and unity. There are a limited number of programs of our dinner available if anyone wants a keepsake. Please email me at hilltopconstr@gmail.com and I will be happy to send you a copy.

Further along on the site there is information about the Conservative Internship Program.

Any interested parties should apply soon as it is a good opportunity for young people to get a hands on education about politics and parliament.

Spring will be upon us soon enough. Please see our next newsletter for upcoming events. And send us your email address so we can keep you informed of additional events planned last minute between newsletters.

Cheers David White.
